This is a blog on my news story that was a group project that was made by Courtney Latta, Isidro Ponce, Josh Jacobson, Erick Castillo, and myself. This project was directed by Courtney Latta as she was the person to make all of the interviews happen which is why we were all thankful for. The interviewer was Josh Jacobson and he wrote most of our questions and helped try to set everything up but overall he was the third most important person in the group. I was the editor which was fun because I got to look over all of the interviews that I didn’t go to, even though I went to most of the interviews but the couple I didn’t go to actually had really good answers to the questions about the subject. Erick Castillo and Isidro Ponce both helped grab everything and set it up so we could record the interviews they also drove us to the interviews. Overall the group worked really well together and we could make a better story if we had a lot more time. Of course there were a few interviews we didn’t use but the interviews we did use were with Robin Beuhler, Jason wolf, and Michelle Nix. This news story was a fun project to do and I think we could do it again with a little more time to make it slightly better.

I’M BACK and here to tell you about my latest videos. I made a PSA about fast food to let people realize that they don’t have to eat fast food but if there is nothing else to eat a healthier option on the menu. In the video, you will find facts about Sonic and Wendy’s food. There are facts about the fat content in the burgers and calories in the fries and tater tots, the video was a challenge to get shots for since I was relying on people to actually come to get food and go through drive through. I had a couple of friends help me with getting the camera shots for the video, overall the video was fun to make and get facts about the fast food. The video one minute long so we could put it on the tv station for everyone to watch. This PSA is my favorite PSA I’ve made out of all of the PSA’s I’ve made so far. This PSA is ready for the tv station made by an advanced student, this is my first year in the advanced class for Mr. Holt. I am also in the broadcasting team and are going to be the main person next year.
working with the tricaster was very hard at first but it eventually became much easier for everybody in class. I was sorta fast to learn the tricaster but it took me a while to figure out how to key the green screen. Eventually everybody and I figured out how to key and put us anywhere.
The hard part was choosing what I was going to film, eventually I just decided that I would record going from side to side on my wallet. The wallet shot really worked since it was black so I could zoom in on the sides for a smooth transition between shots. The shots took me a couple of days to edit because it took so long to choose what I was going to shoot. Eventually the video worked out with everything.
I didn't like that the footage was a little long and got corrupted at the beginning and end of the clip. The end went to black and the beginning was completely out of focus. I did like that Dawson was willing to talk about something he knew nothing about. The chroma key was a little hard to get right because there wasn't good lighting so we had to get rid of some fuzziness.
I liked that we were able to make our own script and do it on whatever we wanted. My voice sounds weird on any mic so I don't like the way it sounds. I was having trouble with the editing software.
The parallel action video was our first time putting clips in our own order to make it look however we want. we also were able to choose the music for it for the first time. We weren't able to get the shots for a completely home made video but it was ok because we were just starting out with editing. The video clips weren't always going to work in order that you put them on your storyboard, I had to change some things in my video to make it look more in sync and i also had to cut some clips shorter than what i wanted but in the end it all worked out.
In the PSA is that my brother was willing to help get the shots I needed. My truck couldn't start sometimes to move to a certain spot and get the moving shots needed. My brother also didn't want to get shots on a nice day because he was "busy" so it was cold when we shot. We also didn't have a good white blanket to show the person covered up. My brother was wearing headphones while shooting and the ear pieces always switch ears according to the shot.
